Tourist baiting fodder

Apparently, Australia's "most dangerous" animals are horses.

Followed by cows, then dogs.

(It's "most dangerous" in terms of deaths. Yeah, I know - the probability of death is a combination of risk + frequency of contact. This is not acknowledged in the article.)

But it opens up realms of possibilities for fun with tourists. Can't you just imagine? After the drop bear stories:

Me: "You think THAT sounds bad. But actually, horses are the most dangerous animals in the country!"

Tourist: "Horses! But I always thought horses were gentle, noble animals!" (Ha!)

Me: "Not AUSTRALIAN horses. Australian horses are bred for their biting technique. A friend of mine, their horses can bite through a 4 inch iron bar."

Und so weiter ...

Actually, that's *exactly* whose horses I was thinking of!

You should tell them about the article.

You haven't posted since early July so I assume you are busy with your last bits of school. Or are you traveling? Hope you are well.

Thanks for the book, Brenda. Max loves it! He chants the Wombat Stew song :-) Also, thanks for the Borders coupons, we bought Max 4 books!
